Armas Trasmediterránea closes the OPE 2025 with over two million seats offered

Grupo Armas Trasmediterránea has completed its participation in the Operation Paso del Estrecho (OPE) 2025 with an operational balance that confirms the scale of the deployment carried out during the Marhaba campaign, which took place from June 15 to September 15. During this period, the company scheduled over 3,200 departures from the ports of Algeciras, Motril, and Almería heading to Ceuta, Melilla, Morocco (Tangier Med, Nador, and Al Hoceima) and Algeria (Oran and Ghazaouet).

During the summer campaign, Armas Trasmediterránea offered more than two million passenger seats and 600,000 for vehicles, solidifying its role in one of the most complex logistical operations of the year in the maritime sector of southern Europe. To manage this volume of traffic, the shipping company reinforced its workforce with over 600 professionals, who worked closely with port authorities, Maritime Captaincies, State Security Forces and Bodies, Civil Protection, and health services, among other organizations involved in the operation.

The deployment included specific measures to address the needs of Maghreb communities traveling during this period, such as assistance in Arabic and French, halal dining options, and prayer spaces on board. These services have been implemented recurrently in recent years as part of the company's focus on adapting the passenger experience to the characteristics of transit during the OPE.

The Marhaba 2025 campaign has taken place in a context of operational stability, with no noteworthy incidents, according to company sources. Armas Trasmediterránea highlighted that coordination between the different stakeholders involved has been one of the determining factors in maintaining smooth traffic at the ports with the highest operational load, such as Algeciras, which concentrated a large part of the departures to North Africa.

Óscar Martínez, corporate commercial director of the shipping company, has praised the results of this year's campaign as a product of the joint work of the commercial, operational, and technical teams, both on land and on board the ships. He stated that the company's priority has been to maintain the regularity of the service, with security and efficiency conditions that respond to the high demand of the summer period.
