Andalusia TRADE organizes more than 400 business meetings at the Green Hydrogen Congress in Huelva

Andalusia TRADE has organized an international technology transfer event within the framework of the III National Green Hydrogen Congress (H2V), held from February 4 to 6 in Huelva, with the aim of promoting the establishment of cooperation lines and strategic alliances, both nationally and internationally, among entities linked to the sector.

Through the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the European network supporting SMEs, Andalusia TRADE has organized 425 meetings between February 4 and 13 with the participation of 295 companies, investors, technological and commercial partners from 17 countries across three continents: Europe, Asia, and America. Specifically, representatives from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Latvia, Turkey, China, and the United States are participating.

Most of these meetings during the congress celebration days are taking place in person, although Andalusia TRADE has set up a system to hold online meetings for those that cannot take place due to the extraordinary weather conditions affecting Andalusia these days.

For these B2B days, Andalusia TRADE has collaborated with its partners in the EEN-Andalusia consortium, the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Andalusia (CEA), and the Andalusian Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation. National partners from the network such as the Knowledge Foundation of Madrid, the Basque Agency for Business Development SPRI, and the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) have also participated, in addition to international partners from Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Portugal, Japan, Chile, and Romania.

In addition to these meetings, Andalusia TRADE has enabled the participation of a delegation of Andalusian startups specialized in technologies related to green hydrogen, to which exhibition space has been provided within the stand. This initiative aims to showcase the Andalusian startup ecosystem in the green hydrogen sector, as well as to foster their connection with companies, entities, and institutions participating in the congress, promoting opportunities for collaboration, networking, and technological positioning.

The III National Green Hydrogen Congress (H2V), promoted by the Huelva Federation of Entrepreneurs (FOE), has the collaboration of the Hydrogen Valleys Alliance of Spain and the institutional support of the Government of Andalusia. With more than 700 registered people, the presence of 300 companies, and representatives from 50 institutions, associations, clusters, and unified national hydrogen valleys from Spain, Europe, and Latin America, this congress has become a benchmark event for the sector at both national and international levels.

Andalusia TRADE has made available to all participants a technological surveillance report on green hydrogen in Andalusia. Technological surveillance consists of observing and analyzing the scientific, technical, and technological environment and subsequently disseminating the selected and processed information that is useful for making strategic decisions and identifying threats and development opportunities.

Among the report's conclusions, it is noted that, in terms of scientific production, data reveal a strong increase in the region in 2024 and 2025, which encapsulates 32 of the 79 participations by Andalusian entities in 66 publications made in the last 20 years. This concentration evidences an alignment of Andalusian research groups with the funding and sustainability priorities set by the European Union.

The document also indicates that there are 24 patents related to green hydrogen requested from Andalusia. A relevant fact in this section is the high participation of individuals and companies compared to public agencies, indicating that the development of new technical solutions is primarily emerging from private initiative and independent inventors seeking practical and immediate applications, mostly protected under the utility model.

Regarding the execution of research and development (R&D) projects, which reflects the region's capacity to transform theoretical knowledge into tangible industrial applications, a total of 24 R&D projects have been identified with 35 participations from Andalusian entities. In this indicator, territorial concentration is at its maximum, with the capital Seville leading with 22 participations in R&D projects related to green hydrogen. The provinces of Huelva and Córdoba are developing large-scale projects focused on logistics, port infrastructure, and energy storage, thus completing a regional map where each province contributes a specific strength to the deployment of green hydrogen.

Andalusia TRADE provides Andalusian entrepreneurs with reports and studies on technological surveillance through its advanced services, creating a means of information and advice on the status of cutting-edge technologies and techniques that allow understanding the state of the art, identifying trends in different sectors, and designing competitive strategies.
