Share Logistics Spain has opened its calendar of commercial missions for 2026 with its presence at Fruit Logistica, the leading international fair in the fresh products sector, held in Berlin from February 4 to 6. The company participates in the event integrated into the joint stand "Ports of Spain", organized by Puertos del Estado, with the purpose of positioning Spanish ports as the reference logistics option for the traffic of fresh products in Europe and consolidating Spain's role as a strategic node in international horticultural trade.
Share Logistics Spain has different specialization verticals, and in the case of its Algeciras delegation, its activity focuses on customs management and logistics of horticultural products. This focus makes Fruit Logistica a highly relevant event for the company, which considers this fair, along with Fruit Attraction in Madrid, as essential events to understand market conditions, the needs of operators, and sector innovations.
Meritxell Souto, branch director of Algeciras at Share Logistics Spain, has pointed out that the main objective in this edition is to accompany its current clients to resolve any doubts that may arise in the opening of new businesses. At the same time, the company takes advantage of the event to establish new connections both with companies in its area of influence and with international operators. The Berlin fair offers a favorable environment for this dual objective by concentrating the main players in the global fresh products value chain in one space.
Fruit Logistica is the main European event dedicated to the fresh products sector. This edition brings together nearly 2,500 exhibiting companies from 90 countries, distributed across 26 pavilions, with expected attendance exceeding 90,000 professionals from 150 countries. The Ports of Spain stand, covering an area of 132 square meters and under the slogan "Moving the best of nature", hosts numerous working meetings between Puertos del Estado and participating port authorities during the three days of the fair.
The participation of companies like Share Logistics Spain in the joint initiative of the Spanish ports occurs in a context where the traffic of fresh products through the Spanish port system exceeded 10.25 million tons in 2025. However, the reduction in exported volumes of fruits and vegetables and the weak global trade evolution during the last fiscal year led to a decrease in this traffic compared to the previous year. Despite this drop, the Spanish port system continues to be one of the main ones in Europe in this segment and has first-level refrigerated infrastructure for the handling of perishable goods.
The specialization of the Algeciras delegation of Share Logistics Spain in customs management and logistics of horticultural products is linked to the strategic position of the Strait of Gibraltar in trade routes connecting producing markets in North Africa and overseas with European consumption centers. The Strait area constitutes one of the main entry points for fruits and vegetables on the continent, placing logistics service companies established in Algeciras in a relevant enclave for the supply chain of the sector.
