The Spanish ports received 907,114 cruise passengers in January 2026, 12.7% more than in the same period of 2025, according to data from Ports of the State. The number of cruise ships that called at the national ports rose to 332, fifty more than in January of the previous year, representing an increase of 17.7%.
Including regular line traffic, the total number of port users reached 2.4 million, of which 1.5 million correspond to regular line passengers, a figure that marks a decrease of 5.6% compared to the same month of 2025. The total traffic accumulated between both categories is 0.6% higher than in the previous fiscal year.
By ports, Las Palmas led the arrival of cruise passengers in January with 370,622 passengers, 16.3% more than in 2025, and 122 cruise calls, 11% more year-on-year. It was followed by Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with 281,931 cruise passengers (+10.3%) and 109 calls (+21.1%), and Barcelona, with 136,856 passengers (+23.2%) and 32 calls (+39.1%).
This data comes after a record year for the sector in Spain in 2025, with 14.1 million cruise passengers, surpassing the previous best mark recorded in 2024, which was 12.8 million. Throughout the past year, a total of 5,373 cruise ships called at Spanish ports, 669 more than the previous year, representing an increase of 14.2%.
