The shipping company, Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE), announced a planned transition in its leadership that will take place in the coming months. Till Ole Barrelet will join the company on May 1, 2026, as the designated CEO and will formally take on the position on July 1, 2026. He will replace Jeremy Nixon, who will serve as Senior Advisor after leading the company since its founding in April 2018.
Under Nixon's leadership, ONE completed the integration of the Japanese shipping companies Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) into a single global company. Currently, the company operates a fleet of more than 260 vessels with a capacity exceeding two million TEUs, establishing itself as a significant player in regular liner shipping.
Barrelet has over 20 years of experience in the maritime and logistics sector. Until now, he was serving as the CEO of Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), and has a background in ship ownership and financing, container transportation, and business development in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
As part of this new stage, ONE will adopt a renewed Executive Management Team structure consisting of the CEO and seven representatives from all divisions. This team, along with six regional leaders, will report directly to the CEO, with the aim of strengthening collaboration within a global matrix.
Jotaro Tamura, Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of Ocean Network Express Holdings Ltd., highlighted Nixon's "extraordinary contribution" as founding CEO and appreciated his role in building a resilient and financially sound company.
For his part, Nixon stated that leading ONE has been the defining chapter of his career, emphasizing the progress made in sustainability, technology, and corporate culture. Barrelet, on his part, noted that he takes on the role at a crucial moment for the industry and expressed his commitment to operational excellence, customer service, and driving the ONE2030 strategy.
The company assured that the transition will be smooth and will not affect customers or other stakeholders.
