The shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the signing of several agreements to acquire an additional stake in Poseidon Corp., the holding company of Seaspan Corporation, regarded as the largest non-operating owner of container ships in the world.

The company will acquire these shares from certain current shareholders of Poseidon. Once the transaction is completed, and after fulfilling the usual closing conditions, ONE's total stake in the company will reach 48.9%.

ONE's CEO, Jeremy Nixon, has emphasized the strategic importance of this operation for the company. "Since our initial investment in 2023, Seaspan has achieved remarkable growth as the world's leading tonnage platform. We are pleased to acquire this additional stake in Poseidon, which fully aligns with our ONE 2030 growth strategy," he noted.

The operation strengthens the relationship between the shipping company and Seaspan, a key player in the global market for container ship leasing, and is part of ONE's long-term growth strategy. The final closure of the transaction remains subject to the usual conditions, including obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
