The shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) has appointed Tomohiro Hosaka as the new CEO for Europe and Africa, a position he will assume starting April 1, 2026.

Hosaka takes over from Takahiro Kikuchi, who leaves the position after three years leading the region to take on new responsibilities in Asia. Until now, the new leader held the position of Director of Corporate and Innovation for Europe and Africa.

The executive has a broad international background within the company, having joined in 2019 as president of ONE Chile. Subsequently, he served as Vice President of Corporate and Innovation for Latin America, in addition to having developed key functions in commercial expansion in China with NYK Line and in managing ro-ro operations in the Americas.

With experience in markets such as Latin America, China, and Europe, Hosaka will bring a global perspective at a time of significant challenges for the maritime sector. In his first statements, he emphasized that his priority will be to maintain agile service standards adapted to the changing needs of customers.

"Maritime transport remains the engine of global trade," he noted, also highlighting the role of innovation, sustainability, and teamwork as fundamental pillars for the future of the company.

In his new phase, Hosaka will have the support of the regional management team, consisting of Stanley Smulders (Product and Network), Dan Miura (Marketing and Sales), and Masashi Hamada (Corporate and Innovation).
