The CMA CGM group has announced the relocation of its regional office for Africa to Abidjan (Ivory Coast), in a strategic move that strengthens its commitment to the continent and is accompanied by the launch of new services aimed at improving quality and proximity to its customers.
The new headquarters centralizes key functions in Abidjan such as Commercial, Export Pricing, Customer Service, Intermodal and Team Management, which will allow for more agile solutions tailored to the needs of the African market. With this integrated structure and a specialized team working closely with clients, partners, and institutions, the company seeks to more effectively support the economic dynamism of the continent, offering services that encompass the entire logistics chain, from maritime transport and inland depots to the development of logistics corridors to the hinterland.
The regional office is led by Adeline Gabillaud, vice president and regional director for Africa, who has nearly 30 years of international experience in maritime transport and logistics. Her deep knowledge of African markets, acquired through years of experience on the continent, is considered a strategic asset to support the group's growth plans in the region.
CMA CGM has over 50 years of presence in Africa, where it currently has 91 offices in 54 countries, employs 3,400 workers, and operates 33 maritime services connecting more than 80 African ports with major international markets. Among its connections, regular links between Europe and West and Central Africa stand out, as well as services connecting West Africa with India, the Middle East, and the Gulf, as well as direct routes between Asia and various ports on the continent.
In addition to its maritime activity, the group participates in eight container terminals in Africa, located in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mauritania, and Morocco, reinforcing its role as an integrated logistics operator in the region. Through its intermodal division and its subsidiary CEVA Logistics, specialized in contract logistics and multimodal transport, the company offers door-to-door solutions that optimize flows, reduce timelines, and strengthen the resilience of supply chains in the context of a transforming global trade.
