Grupo Transbull Cádiz participated on January 29 and 30 in the Reverse Mission from Costa Rica in Algeciras, an initiative aimed at strengthening commercial and logistical relations between the Central American country and the port environment of the Bay of Algeciras. The meeting brought together companies and operators from both territories and included a visit by the Costa Rican delegation to the cold storage facilities operated by the Cadiz group at the port.
The event allowed Grupo Transbull, along with Cold Storage and Logistics of the South (AFLSUR), to present its cold storage warehouse at the Port of Algeciras to representatives from Costa Rica. These facilities constitute a specialized infrastructure for the management of fresh fruit, perishable products, and refrigerated goods, integrated into a port ecosystem that connects southern Europe with markets in Africa, America, and the Middle East.
The group’s representation at the events was carried out by Raúl Bernal Soto, on behalf of Transbull and AFLSUR; Triana Lobato, from AFLSUR; and Miguel Hormigo and Aitor Ojeda, both representing Transbull. The integrated logistics operator took advantage of the meeting to publicize its capabilities in handling refrigerated cargo and its positioning in the traffic of fresh products from Central America.
The organization of the reverse mission was supported by the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, COMPORT, the Chamber of Commerce of the Campo de Gibraltar, and the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Agency (PROCOMER). This type of initiative facilitates direct contact between logistics operators, exporters, and importers, generating opportunities for commercial collaboration between both sides of the Atlantic.
Costa Rica maintains a relevant position as an exporter of horticultural products to Europe, with special prominence of pineapple, banana, and other tropical crops. The Port of Algeciras, due to its strategic location in the Strait of Gibraltar and its capacity to manage containerized refrigerated goods traffic, presents itself as a natural entry point for these exports destined for the European market.
The cold storage facilities visited by the Costa Rican delegation are part of the specialized logistics offer that the port environment of Algeciras has developed in recent years to meet the demand of the perishable products trade. The cold chain is crucial in this type of traffic, where temperature control from origin to final destination ensures the quality and shelf life of the goods.
Grupo Transbull operates as an integrated logistics agent in the Campo de Gibraltar, with services ranging from customs management to the storage and distribution of goods. Its association with AFLSUR enables it to offer specific solutions for the refrigerated products segment, a growing niche within international trade that transits through the Strait of Gibraltar.
The reverse mission held in Algeciras is part of PROCOMER's strategy to diversify the logistical channels of Costa Rican exports and explore new access routes to the European market. The reverse mission format, which brings potential buyers and importers to the exporting country or to the intermediate logistical nodes, allows for firsthand knowledge of the available infrastructures and capabilities.
