Leoproex has opened its schedule of commercial missions for 2026 with its participation in Fruit Logistica, the leading international fair for the fresh products sector, which takes place in Berlin from February 4 to 6. The Spanish logistics and customs management company is at the event as part of the joint stand "Ports of Spain," organized by Puertos del Estado, with the aim of positioning Spanish ports as the best logistical option for the traffic of fresh products in the heart of Europe and consolidating the role of Spain as a strategic hub for international horticultural trade.
Leoproex's presence at this edition has a special component, as the company takes advantage of the Berlin showcase to announce its two most recent openings: the Algeciras office, operational since August 2025, and the Málaga office, inaugurated in January 2026. Both locations are added to the network of offices that the company maintains in the main logistics enclaves of the country, with a presence in Valencia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, and Madrid. The family-owned company, founded in Barcelona, also has its own offices in Havana (Cuba), Italy, and France, among other international destinations.
Rubén Roldán, commercial executive for Logistics and Customs at Leoproex, has pointed out that Fruit Logistica constitutes an essential meeting for the company because it allows direct contact with clients, suppliers, and collaborators in an environment where the international horticultural sector is concentrated. According to Roldán, this face-to-face meeting is key to better understanding the needs of operators and continuing to improve the services offered by the company.
Leoproex's participation in the fair also aims to promote key areas of its activity, including maritime freight, customs management, and warehousing and distribution services. In the perishables sector, coordination between transport, customs clearance, and logistics is a decisive factor in ensuring the speed and safety of the supply chain, as explained by the company's commercial executive.
Roldán added that the Berlin fair also offers the opportunity to learn about new trends and logistical solutions that contribute to optimizing processes and adding more value to clients. In the words of the Leoproex representative, the event is not just a trade fair but a space where relationships are strengthened, opportunities are generated, and the development of international trade is promoted.
Fruit Logistica is the main European event dedicated to the fresh products sector. In this edition, the fair gathers nearly 2,500 exhibiting companies from 90 countries, distributed across 26 pavilions, and expects attendance of over 90,000 professionals from 150 countries. The Ports of Spain stand, covering an area of 132 square meters and under the slogan "Moving the best of nature," hosts numerous working meetings between Puertos del Estado and participating port authorities during the three days of the event.
The joint initiative of the Spanish ports at Fruit Logistica is framed within a context where the traffic of fresh products through the Spanish port system exceeded 10.25 million tons in 2025. However, the reduction in exported volumes of fruits and vegetables and the weak evolution of global trade during the last fiscal year caused a decline in this traffic compared to the previous year. Despite this drop, the Spanish port system remains one of the leading ones in Europe in this segment and has first-level refrigerated infrastructures for the handling of perishable goods.
Leoproex's bet to expand its network of offices in southern Spain, with the openings in Algeciras and Málaga, responds to the logistical relevance of the Strait area and the Andalusian Mediterranean coast in the commercial routes for fresh products. The company thus aims to provide more comprehensive coverage at the entry and exit points of horticultural goods connecting Spain with African, European, and overseas markets.
