The Cádiz Free Zone has submitted its accounts for the year 2025 as of March 31, confirming the path of stability and financial health reached by the Cádiz Consortium in recent years. The closure of the economic year has resulted in a profit of 6.1 million euros, a figure that triples the 1.9 million euros recorded in 2024. Thus, for the second consecutive year, the Free Zone achieves a positive balance, after having accumulated 13 consecutive years of losses.
Another relevant fact regarding the formulation of the Consortium's annual accounts is that the level of debt continues to decrease, standing at the end of the 2025 fiscal year below 90 million euros, representing a 53% reduction compared to the total debt accumulated since 2020.
In this regard, the early repayment of debt during 2025 has resulted in a reduction in financial expenses by 11% compared to the previous year, a trend that confirms the management of financial resources aimed at significantly reducing the impact of such expenses on the institution's profit and loss statement. Moreover, for the year 2026, the forecast points to a decrease in debt below 75 million euros.
At the same time, the upward trend in revenues from the corporate tax on companies located in the facility continues, with a figure exceeding 7 million euros. This figure represents three times the average income from the last five years and allows the Free Zone to plan for greater investment in its infrastructure.
Likewise, as previously mentioned in last year's balance during the traditional Christmas breakfast, the Cádiz Free Zone surpassed 15 million euros in sales for the first time at the end of the 2025 fiscal year, having completed a total of 108 commercial transactions, of which 74 corresponded to new lease contracts and 34 to sales operations.
The formulation of the 2025 accounts, presented on time by March 31—as regulated by Article 127 of the General Budget Law, which establishes that the annual accounts of entities in the state public sector must be formulated within a maximum period of three months from the end of the economic year—reflects that the year 2025 is configured as the year of consolidation of the growth of the Cádiz Free Zone, with positive economic results and a cleaning of its finances.
It is worth noting that in the previous year the balance of the accounts confirmed the evolution of the Cádiz Free Zone, which regained its solvency and liquidity, making it possible for the General Intervention of the State to issue a favorable report without qualifications in its audit for the second consecutive year, after it had done so for the first time in the history of the Cádiz Consortium since audits began.
The absence of qualifications demonstrates the correct application of accounting principles and the solidity of administrative and financial procedures, which strengthens confidence in the Institution and its capacity to continue developing strategic projects for the province of Cádiz.
The compliance with the 2021-2025 Viability Plan and the turnaround in the economic situation of the Consortium is reflected in financial statements that show solvency and solidity, supporting the Strategic Plan 2026-2030 approved a few months ago. This plan outlines the roadmap for the Free Zone to continue attracting talent and initiatives that promote a more innovative and competitive business environment for the socioeconomic development of the province of Cádiz, a fundamental statutory objective of the Cádiz Consortium.
