The Free Zone of Cádiz will be present from May 12 to 14 at the World Free Zones Congress held in Panama City, a meeting that will bring together over 1,500 public policy makers, business leaders, and high-level executives from free zones in different regions of the world. The Director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Marta Domínguez, and the Director of the Financial Area and Blue Economy, José Manuel Fedriani, are traveling in institutional representation of the Cádiz Consortium.
The 12th World Congress, organized by the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), based in Dubai, takes place under the theme ‘Free zones in the new global operating model: challenges and opportunities.’ According to the organizers, the meeting seeks to provide a strategic platform for dialogue and collaboration aimed at resilient, digital, and sustainable growth in a transforming global economy, in a context marked by geopolitical changes, accelerated digitalization, and sustainability demands.
The presence of the Cádiz representatives at the global forum confirms the role of the Free Zone of Cádiz as an international platform for startups that are part of the blue economy ecosystem created by the institution. One of them, EONSEA, will attend the event under the umbrella of Blue Core-Incubazul, promoting its project and giving visibility to its activity before international markets. EONSEA is currently participating in the Blue Core Exterior program and is a technology startup specialized in the inspection, monitoring, and analysis of underwater infrastructures, combining advanced robotics and artificial intelligence to optimize the management of submerged assets.
The congress will also serve as a venue for the general assembly of the Americas Free Zones Association (AZFA), which will have a strong participation from its members. AZFA and the Free Zone of Cádiz are already preparing for the organization of the XXIX Ibero-American Free Zones Conference, which will be held in Cádiz from October 26 to 28 of this year.
The Spanish presence at the congress will consist of Cádiz representatives along with those from other free zones in the country, specifically Vigo, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife.
Domínguez and Fedriani will take advantage of their stay in Panama to strengthen ties and contacts with free zones, entities, and companies from Latin America, especially from Colombia, resulting from previous commercial missions.
