WISTA Spain, the Spanish association of women professionals in the maritime sector and international trade, has presented the final program for its Annual Meeting 2026, which will take place from June 4 to 6 in Valencia. Under the motto "Port Operations: A Comprehensive Vision", the meeting will address the different phases of ship berthing with the participation of industry professionals at the national level. The choice of Valencia as the venue responds to the strategic importance of the Port of Valencia, and the association has expressed gratitude for the reception by Valenciaport and its president, Mar Chao, whose involvement has been crucial for the event's organization.
The main technical session will take place on Friday, June 5, at the La Harinera space, with the collaboration of Valencia Innovation Capital, and will be open to both WISTA Spain members and the rest of the port community. The session will kick off with the official inauguration, featuring speeches by Rosana Velasco, president of WISTA Spain; Benito Núñez, Secretary General of Air and Maritime Transport; Clara La Calle, Secretary General of State Ports; and Mar Chao, president of the Port Authority of Valencia.
Following that, there will be a roundtable discussion titled "The Ship Arrival: From Planning to Berthing", which will include participation from Elena Delgado, maritime captain of Valencia; Pamela Celedón, from Boluda Remolcadores Castellón; José Martín, from the Port Authority of Valencia (APV); Albert Oñate, from ASECOB; Pau Sarro, from Port Amarradores of Valencia; and Ángel Ríos, from the Corporation of Pilotage of the Port of Valencia.
The program also includes a colloquium on "Innovation and AI in the context of port operations", with Juan Manuel Díez, head of Innovation at APV, and José Andrés Giménez, director of Port Logistics at the Valenciaport Foundation.
During the event, the WISTA Spain 2025 solidarity donation will be presented to Mercy Ships, the entity chosen by vote of the members during the last assembly of the organization.
After the networking break, the second roundtable of the day, titled "Berthing: Operations and Ship Departure", will take place with contributions from Marta Catalán, regional head of Customs and Special Taxes; Belén Fernández, from APM Terminals; Miguel Rocher, from Operplus; Laura March, from Valencia Border Control (PIF); Miguel Pardo, from Grimaldi Group; and Antonio Mínguez, from Anymore Transport. The conclusions and closing will be handled by Rosana Velasco.
In the afternoon, the session will move to the Port of Valencia with a maritime tour and a guided visit to the facilities of Amarradores, Pilots, and Tugs. On Saturday, June 6, the Annual Ordinary Assembly will be held at the facilities of the Port Authority of Valencia.
The event is sponsored by Boluda Towage, Elcome, and Muñoz and Montañés Lawyers as gold sponsors, and by Aiyón Lawyers, MA Lawyers, Sasemar, and Next Maritime as silver sponsors.
